Gas Cylinder
Not collected by the city (high-pressure gas products). Dispose as recyclable resources in spray cans (limited to used mini gas cartridges only).
Gas cylinders (LP gas, etc.) cannot be collected by the city. Please consult and return them to the retailer or manufacturer. Some carbon dioxide cylinders, such as those for soda makers, are high-pressure gas products. Under the High Pressure Gas Safety Act, the manufacturer or seller bears responsibility for their disposal. Therefore, do not dispose of them as regular waste. Used mini gas cartridges (small iron cylinders approximately 15 cm long and 4 cm in diameter or less) should be completely emptied. Dispose of them as spray cans on resource collection days, placing them in a separate bag from other recyclables (cans, bottles, PET bottles, video tapes, etc.). Containers with remaining contents or those falling under the High Pressure Gas Safety Act cannot be processed by the city. Please return them to the retailer or manufacturer. To prevent accidents such as collection truck fires, do not mix them with non-combustible waste. For inquiries, contact the Recycling Section, Waste Management Division, Environmental Department, Akishima City (042-546-5300).
