Items that cannot be collected (large gas cylinders), non-combustible waste (empty metal canisters), combustible waste (empty plastic containers)

Large gas cylinders (such as propane cylinders) cannot be collected by the city. Please consult the retailer or manufacturer, or request collection from a licensed collector listed by the city. Gas cylinder handling businesses are listed in the Zama City Prohibited Waste Collection Business Directory (e.g., Zen-zan Shoten Co., Ltd. 046-253-6749). Empty spray cans, cassette gas cylinders, and gas cartridges completely before sorting them by container material. Metal containers go in non-combustible waste; plastic containers go in combustible waste. There is no need to puncture the containers. Containers with remaining contents cannot be collected by the city due to the risk of ignition or explosion. Consult the manufacturer or retailer, or contact the relevant inquiry desk to confirm how to empty the contents (Spray cans: Japan Aerosol Association 03-5207-9850, Cassette gas cylinders: Cassette Gas Cylinder Customer Center 0120-14-9996 Weekdays 10:00-17:00). For safety, always perform this work outdoors in a well-ventilated area away from open flames. Wear a mask or similar protection to avoid inhalation or skin contact.
