Gas Cylinder
Pickup at retailer
In Tamana City, Kumamoto Prefecture, gas cylinders (such as LPG cylinders) are not collected or processed by the city's waste collection services. They cannot be accepted at the Eastern Environmental Center or Clean Park Five. Disposal methods are as follows: For cassette gas cylinders: * Completely use up the contents. * Safely puncture the cylinder outdoors in a well-ventilated area. ・Place in a designated garbage bag as "cans" (if rusty or dirty, place with "metals") For LPG gas cylinders (large gas cylinders like propane): ・Request the retailer where purchased to collect it ・Request the nearest gas retailer to collect it ・The city's waste processing facilities cannot accept them Important Notes: * Never dispose of unperforated spray cans or cassette gas cylinders. They can cause fires or explosions in collection vehicles or processing facilities. * Large gas cylinders cannot be processed by the city as hazardous materials. * Always consult the retailer or a specialized disposal company.
